History
Bellinda was created as a hosiery brand by Fred Vatter and Dr. Otto Palme in 1950. The name Bellinda comes from “Bella Linda” (Beautiful Linden) which is a Latin translation of the name of the North Bohemian town of Krásná Lípa in the Czech Republic, where Josef Heinrich Vatter established a hosiery mill in 1882.
Since 1991, Bellinda has been present on Central and Eastern European markets especially in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. As mentioned before, Bellinda was introduced as hosiery and sock brand but today it offers a wider underwear than legwear collection. The first underwear collection was introduced in 2000 and since then, underwear for ladies and men has become the main part of the Bellinda collection.
